THE POST-GRADUATE SCHOOL IN INFORMATION ENGINEERING
The Post-Graduate School (Ph. D. Programme) in Information Engineering has been operating since 1993 inside the Dept. of Information Eng., Electrical Eng. and Applied Mathematics pursuing the following main objectives:
- To respond to the quest by companies and research centres for highly qualified professional profiles;
- To help the placement of post-graduate students, in local as well as in national and international context, by means of the wide scientific and educational cooperation system currently active with several industrial and academic organizations;
- To foster the higher education in Southern Italy promoting the deployment of information technology and methods toward competitive development.
The School achieved an outstanding level in the Italian Ministry ranking, allowing for funding additional grants. Support of industrial sponsors is equally important, concretizing in grants from external organizations.
The school is open to all UE and extra UE persons without any prejudices concerning race, religion and sex. Admission prerequisites, to ensure a common background, are the following Italian degrees:
- “Laurea” (five years degree) in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Engineering, Electric Engineering, Physics, Informatics;
- “Laurea Magistrale” (Master degree) in Information Engineering, Electric Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Informatics.
Also accepted are equivalent foreign degrees, within reciprocity agreements with issuing universities.
